2026 CCBC Choices List
Snowshoe Kate and the Hospital Built for Pennies is officially on the 2026 CCBC Choices List! CCBC Choices is a best-of-the-year list created annually by the librarians of the Cooperative Children’s Book Center at the University of Wisconsin — Madison. The CCBC recommends a wide range of books for children and teens from birth through high-school age. Books recommended in CCBC Choices are included in the searchable CCBC-Recommended Book Search database.
2027 Towner Award Nominee
Kate is also nominated for a 2027 Towner Award! The Towner Award is the Washington state award for nonfiction picture books written for 2nd-6th grade students. In the spring, all Washington State students in public and independent schools, from second through sixth grades, are invited to vote for their favorite book if they have listened to or read a minimum of two titles.
